ECLIPSE Kickoff Meeting – 22–23 September, 2025
On 22 and 23 September 2025, the ECLIPSE Project successfully kicked off in Trento, Italy. Hosted both at the Fondazione Bruno Kessler and online, two productive days of engaging presentations and interactive sessions led to the successful launch of the project and established a strong foundation for the best possible outcomes.
The ECLIPSE project
The ECLIPSE project, funded under Horizon Europe’s Cluster 3, is aimed at combating hate speech and mis/disinformation both online and offline across Europe. Over the next 36 months, the project will develop innovative tools and strategies for analysing harmful content and deploying counter-narratives, including natural language processing, social network analysis, and natural language generation technologies.
A key focus is strengthening the resilience among professionals and citizens, helping them identify and address hatred and fake news both online and offline. To achieve its goals, ECLIPSE will equip stakeholders with validated and modern tools as well as innovative training methods, such as digital storytelling, gamification, and augmented/extended reality. The project will be implemented through pilots in Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy, the UK, Spain, and Türkiye, with the aim of achieving scalable and sustainable solutions at national, EU and global levels.
